Audio in Video Recording out of sync with Person Talking

Sat Jan 28, 2017 8:26 pm

I am trying Action! 2.1.0.0 and when I record a video, the voices are out of sync with the person talking. I tried both avi and mp4. The video is within Firefox browser and I make the on-screen video a small size (not full screen); sometimes this has helped with other programs in the past.

With the mp4, I tried setting the Video Size to 720, 480 and even Original; still the voices are out of sync. I then tried Video framerates from 60 down to 20 and still the same results. I cannot use 60 framerate and 1080p because the on screen video really lags in places. I need to use 720p or lower and 30 framerate or lower to stop the on-screen lag; but, the voices are still out of sync.

With avi, I tried the same video sizes and framerates. The result is a little better; but, still out of sync. I really want to use mp4 because the avi files are a larger mb size.

In the settings, I turned "Use multicore recording" off since I only have 2 cores. This has helped a bit.

Here are my computer specs:
Intel Core2 Duo, E8500 @ 3.16GHz
Installed RAM = 8GB (maximum for my motherboard)
Windows 7, 64-bit
nVidia GeForce GTX 570 card
Action! is installed on my SSD that also contains my operating system. The videos I am saving are on another 7200 rpm internal HD.

I know my computer is getting old; but, is there some other setting within Action! to get the voices in sync with the person talking? Or do I need to look for another program?

I had used version 1.?.?.? and did not get the same voice lag. Help?

Thanks.

Hello,
please try recording into your SSD and check if that helps.

I tried another recording session and saved the video to my SSD. I used 720p, 30sec, mp4 settings. The video I recorded was a short video (3 min) and when I played it back, the voices were in sync with the video. I thought, great, this fixed the problem. Then I recorded the next video that was longer (6 min), the video played okay on screen at first; but, then maybe 1/4 of the way through, the video lagged a lot. I cannot record like this.

I then went into my performance settings for Windows 7 and set it to run as best performance. The video still did not run smoothly to record it. It is a shame as I really like this software for what I need it for.

The other issue I have is when I start Action!, a dialogue box starts and states that it is looking for Blackberry Software location. I don't have Blackberry software installed on my computer (I used to a few years ago when I had a Blackberry phone); so, why is it asking this when I start the software?

I went and downloaded another program to try. When it started recording, the windows colour scheme changed to Windows 7 Basic. It stated that a running program isn't compatible with certain visual elements of windows. I am able to record a video of any length without any lag and on playback, the voices are in sync with the video. So, it looks like I might switch to this software now since it works.

Thanks.
