No webcam footage?

Hi, just bought Action for my son. He made a video no problem with gameplay capture, audio and webcam capture of himself in top right corner. All was there on playback but when he uploaded it to you tube the webcam footage was missing from the top right?? Audio and gameplay was all still there though. I've tried looking into why but can't seem to find any answers. I'm thinking it's to do with the file type? It's set o AVI but when looking at webcam it says MP4 and it doesn't appear that this can be changed. Am I missing something? Are the recordings he's made so far as good as useless? Can we change something for future recordings so that everything is viewable/audible once uploaded? Thanks in advance.
