a split second frame drop.

Thu Apr 09, 2020 9:10 pm

hello,

this program does what it does, and it does it very well. i use the steam version of action. however, i have this small issue where in the middle of a perfectly normal recording, there would just be one tiny moment where the framerate just drops and then return to normal. you don't see what i mean? lets look at an example:

this is a 30 second snippet from a 3 minute test recording. notice the framerate drop at the end.

so what is happening? and how can i fix it?

here are my specs:

Acer Predator Helios 300

Intel Core i7-7700HQ (i use a laptop)

nVIDIA GTX 1060 6 GB

16 GB of ram

1 TB HDD and a 256 GB SSD (i store recordings in my hard drive and mc is on my SSD)

action is stored in my hdd

thank you!

How often does that happen?
It could be just normal lag in the game, Minecraft is not the best optimized game out there.

hello and sorry for the late reply,

as far as I'm concerned this happens in every game i have tried - that being CSGO, GTA, and even VALORANT Beta. i tried many methods like changing the hardware acceleration methods (nvidia and intel) and adjusting the bitrate of the video and the audio. i even tried to change the input range. those (sort of) help but it is very minimal and there's still a lag similar to the one that i have shown. as of now i don't even know anymore. my current settings are:

MP4
Intel Quick Sync Video
1080p
60fps

Video Quality: Low
Force bitrate: 18.0 mbps
Input range: 16-235 (Limited)
Use multicore rendering and Record mouse cursor is on.
AAC bitrate is 192 kbps.
The hud is shown when I am recording but it is not in the video file itself.
Action Steam Edition is stored on my HDD.

please. if anyone can help me, i would love to use this software as stable as possible. thank you for your guys' help.
