Greetings,
I am using Action! version 4.9.0 to record Forza Horizon 4 game-play, using the MP4 file format and AMD AMF HEVC hardware acceleration (the video resolution is 1920*1200 at 60 FPS). The recordings turn out fine, the problems start to appear when I start editing the clips with kdenlive. As I trim parts of the recorded clips the preview gets progressively worse - a grey overlay appears accompanied by graphical artifacts.
After exporting the video (to lossless H.264 using libx264 and aac, as per default in kdenlive) the artifacts are preserved. I have added two captures from the resulting file.
Based on previous experience I think that some I frames get lost when the video clips are trimmed. Can this be prevented or remedied somehow? Is other software better equipped to handle the editing of clips recorded by Action! and AMD HW acceleration? Do you have some recommendations on configuration changes, be it the recording settings or kdenlive parametres, to work around this issue?
Thank you for your help in advance, kind regards,
Gyuszi
