Video quality and Bitrate fields

Fri Sep 17, 2021 1:40 pm

Hi,

could you please explain me what exactly the Video quality options mean. What is the difference between High and Normal? Is it bitrate or anything else? I made some test and both in normal as in high the codecs and bitrates were the same so I'm confused.

The same goes for Bitrate. What exact bitrate means every percentage? I usually just force to 16 but I want to know how to configure this options properly.

Thanks.

Video quality changes the maximum bitrate for MP4 recording and some parameters for AVI recording.

Wouldn't that make the "Bitrate (MP4)" Slider Setting a bit redundant? If I were to set the "Video quality" Setting to "Ultra" it should be the highest possible Bitrate or is it implemented due to fine tuning performance on lower end machines?

I'm kinda confused as well. I noticed that setting to Low Quality puts the recording at Main@L4 Profile whereas Ultra is Main@L5 Profile. With 100% on the "Bitrate (MP4)" Slider Setting it seems that going from Ultra to Low halves the amount of allowed Bitrate.
