Hi All
Please why I can't move to a certain time on the progress bar of Mirillis Splash player
for example if I want to move to 1:20
when I click on that time on the progress bar, It moves to 1:25 or some time 1:12.
So what causes this problem? also most multimedia player have the same problem in moving or jumping to a certain time on progress bar.
Thanks

The issue occurs due to keyframe intervals in the video file. Players can only seek to the nearest keyframe. Re-encode the video with shorter keyframe intervals or use a precise player like VLC.

where trying to make a precise move can sometimes be trickier than expected. It might be a buffering or syncing issue with the player, or possibly the way it's handling time jumps. Hopefully, there’s a setting or update that can smooth it out!

Could the problem with the progress bar jumping to incorrect times be related to the video file's encoding or the way the player handles seeking?

This usually happens because of keyframe-based seeking—most players jump to the nearest keyframe instead of the exact timestamp. The spacing between keyframes depends on how the video was encoded, so it can feel imprecise. It’s normal behavior in many media players, not just Splash.
