Re: Issue with Action! and Arma2/DayZ

I can confirm issue with Action trying to record in Arma2 Operation Arrow Head, has suddenly stopped working. Yet in Arma2 it still works!? Couldn't figure out what I had changed to suddenly make it stop working, till I saw this thread & remember there was a recent Battleye update.....

Have uninstalled - re-installed games & Action etc...was driving me crazy!

Maybe we now have the answer...?

No overlay what so ever works for it, and the team needs help to find the issue.

To Action! devs: This isn't Action!'s fault, it's Bohemia that did some errors with the code for the latest Battleeye (anti cheat system) update and it's refusing every overlay (even Steam) to show up.
Thanks for the update.

But are you going to fix it?
On other forum i saw that you told someone that you are not going to do anything abut it. Is there any possibility that it will be fixed in Action! 2.0?

Okay yep definitely an issue with BattlEye.
In Steam if I launch Arma2 OA without BattlEye, Action! window displays. If I launch it with BattlEye it's doesn't.

So we know the problem...now we just need to wait for a fix. :(

Currently there is nothing we can do about this since the issue is not on our side. This issue is related to BattlEye.

According to this thread:
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/sho ... st17638353
the problem is: doing external memory writes to the game process to load their .DLL module.

So the problem is that Action use some forbiden way to "do something", and chating programs use the same way. That is why Action is "banned". So partly that is Action fault...

We have provided them a method to allow Action! through their anti-cheat system. Unfortunately they were not interested in using it.

So where does that leave me as a customer?
Obviously we are at an impasse as neither party seems to want to resolve this problem, just blame the other party.

I upgraded from FRAPS to Action! because of the good reviews and better options/quality, but at least FRAPS still works for Arma2...despite the frame rate hit.

So can I get a refund on my purchase of Action!, seeing as I bought it specifically to use for my Arma2 - Wasteland gameplay recording and now it doesn't work?

So, can I also ask "What's the plan then?"
You could let us know if you CAN fix the problem and work to BE requirements to allow Action to work in game mode, or that you won't do anything else and if we want game mode, we should look elsewhere.
But not saying either isn't very good.
