Action not recording microphone.

So i downloaded the trial version of Action and all seemed well, it was recording the game i was playing (FEAR) and the commentary (via blue snowball mic). The first run through was a test and after discovering that the commentary was lagging behind the video by a good 3 seconds after barely a minute of recording i looked at a few video's on youtube but couldn't find any guidence. Then all of a sudden Action would not pick up any sort of audio from the microphone.

The microphone is working perfectly using Audacity but i cannot figure out why all of a sudden it will not pick up audio from my microphone. I changed nothing in the settings, i've tried restarting Action, restarting the computer, i also installed an update for Action but this came after the microphone problem occured. I tried uninstall and reinstalling it but it still will not pick up the audio.

Any assistance to the microphone problem and the audio lag problem is welcome.

I had a similar problem. Action wasn't recording any sound from my mic at all. I had to go to the settings tab. Under that go to the last tab on the right should look like a keyboard. Then near the bottom it has a hot key for the mic should be f4. Uncheck that. Even if it is set to "always record" it wont work if that box is still checked. Hope this helps.
