Recording Problem: IL-2 Sturmovik Cliffs of Dover-Blitz

Tue Jan 15, 2019 10:55 pm

Action will not record game at game/monitor/graphics card set resolution.

Monitor: Acer Predator x34 set at 3440x1440, 95Hz
GameSettings: 3440x1140, 95Hz
Action Settings: File Format MP4; Hardware acceleration: NVIDIA NVENC; Video size: Original; Video framerate: 60 fps; VFR

Running game Fullscreen: Action recorded video file is 1828x1082, 60 fps
Running game Pseudo: Action recorded video file is 2562x1440, 60 fps

If I use my previous recording software PlayClaw, the Fullscreen and Pseudo Cliffs of Dover-Blitz recorded files are 3440x1440, 60 fps. No problem.

I purchased Action because it does a very good job recording video in IL-2 Greatest Battles (BoX). No noticeable stutter. Does a very good job.

CPU: I7-6700K
Graphics Card: eVGA GTX1080
Windows 10 Version 1809 runs on dedicated SSD
IL-2 Greatest Battles & Cliffs of Dover-Blitz run on a different dedicate SSD

When I try to add DxDiag.txt to "Attachments" I get the error message "Invalid file extension: DxDiag.txt"

File is attached.

Additional information. When Cliff of Dover starts, the menu screens are DX9. When you spawn into a mission (you're in the cockpit), it changes to DX11. This might have something to do with the problem.

Try running the game first and then start Action!. See if that helps.

Good advice. Start game, spawn into cockpit and then start Action. Action records video at 3440x1440 :P . I can continue to record at 3440x1440 even if I end the mission, return to menu screen to select a new mission. If I exit the game, I have to repeat the procedure in order to record at 3440x1400.

Action runs when Windows 10 boots. Hopefully this is something Action can correct in future updates. Not sure if Cliffs of Dover can change their setup but I will let them know about the procedure.

Thanks for the support and help.
