Support for Cam Link 4k?

Fri Jul 24, 2020 2:48 am

Hello Support team. I just got my cam link 4k. The option to use my camlink 4k is grayed out. I'm not able to select it as a web cam. All other application that use web cam can detect my cam link and DSLR with no issues. Does action have support for the Elgato Cam Link 4k? If so how can i select it?

Hi crazylegs,

We have filters for Elgato devices that's why it might got greyed out. Any chances we could upload 4.10.3 beta with Elgato Cam Link 4K so you could let us know if it works for you???

Ok so i got the Cam Link 4k partially working now. The issue seems to be that the support for the cam link 4k is limited to 1080p/60 or lower. Any resolution higher then that, then Action grays out the Cam Link 4k. not sure if this is by design or a bug. I was able to replicate the issue by using the "Device" capture mode. It was also limited to 1080p/60 max. I also upgraded my software to the new 4.10.3.

Is it possible to increase the support of the cam link 4k to allow its native resolution?

Hi! This is old problem. Will you fix it?
Bandicam for example works in 4K with CAM Link.

Hi! its been a wile. I want to up this topic and hear some reply. Please say something! If you can't add full 4K support - ok. It's fine for me. But it's not ok without answer!
And about Bandicam - Program can't support CamLink 4K. Only with huge color distortion.
Action! also can't work with Webcam above 1080p (program stuck or image of webcam).

Hi again after several months. What's up with this problem? Maybe you'll add 4k Cam support in Action 5.0? Thank you!

Cam Link 4K support will be available soon in Action! 5.

PS. Even now Action! support Avermedia and Elgato cards in 4K HDR for recording and streaming so 1080p should not be a problem.
