I'd be interested to know what difference you see , if any , between Motion 1 , 5 and 10 .
I tried the Potplayer , but the movie just goes very slowly .
How would you rate the PotPlayer result , re the Motion thing ?
Hey,

here is my registry settings for Daum PotPlayer. I modded a lot... Please use the latest version of the player, and install it into the C:\Program Files\Daum\Potplayer folder. [This is the default...]

Latest PotPlayer: http://www.dvbsupport.net/
Registry settings:

BTW: Motion 1-5-10 give a smoother playing, nothing else. The movies get "soap-opera-like" effect, seems like recorded with a handy cam. I like it, but somebody doesnt.

With my settings to Potplayer you will get similar (not the same!) quality like Splash Pro. I tested in on Windows 7, with Gigabyte GTX 460 SO. (Check signature!)

Thanks Joco1114 . That's some registry file ! I'll give it a try .

So you notice a difference in smoothness between 5 and 10 , for 1080p movies ?

. So similar to Splash Pro on which Motion setting ( 1, 5, 10 ) ?

I wast too clear, sorry, it comes from my poor english knowledge. :)
So, I definitely see the differences betweeb 1 and 10. Check a movie with fast movings. I hate 2012 [the movie] but it is a good sample, camera shakings, fast movings. Sometimes I get "ghost movings": it means I see more than one object at the same time. With 10 it is smoother, ghosts are fusing into one. I think it also hangs on CPU and GPU speed.

PotPlayer cant calculate the frames between frames. Check video renderer settings and you will see, that I use EVR resizer with Direct3D 9Ex. I get smooth movings and with a little video control manipulation I get nice result. :)

Sum: Splash Pro quality is the BEST. But it uses a lot of system resources but someone without my sharp eyes cant see the differences. :) I use both players: for dedicated play I use Splash, but if I would like to use my HTPC during the movie playing, I use PP.

aviwil wrote:Big Foot , I would have expected better for a quad core . I see you're on XP . Traditionally old opsys's were faster . However Win 7 may be more efficient at using quad cores . Also your graphic card's driver will be almost surely much more updated under Win 7 than XP . What card is it , by the way ? Also Win 7 may interface better to it than XP .
Have you ever considered upgrading to Win 7 ?
My card is an ATI Sapphire HD 3400 with Catalyst 10.02 (I have installed and tryed today Catalyst 10.11, but no change in CPU/GPU usage. I had to back up to 10.02, because with this new Catalyst 10.11 I had 2x blue sreen death...)

This 720p an extreme one, with the other test file (suggested from Joco1114) I have a "normal" result:

Environment: ATI HD 3400, Q9550 (2.83@3.23), 1GB A-DATA EE DDR2-1000
Movie: big_buck_bunny_1080p_h264.mov

* CPU utilization: 30-50% (with iMotion 10, Detail Boost 5, Light Boost 5)
* memory: about 300 MB

It would be great, if somebody would try my 720p sample on a Quad Core CPU with win7, or on a Core-i system with XP or win7. I want to find out, does it make sense to change my OP (XP=>win7), or change my architecture (Socket 775 with quad => Core i3/i5), or both...

Big Foot - you may have applied the latest Catalyst update , but I strongly suspect that the actual updates for XP and Win 7 will be different . I also suspect that your blue screens , are because of your XP .
Whatever software you have installed , it's understandable that most companies are putting their main efforts into the newer opsys's , and providing "lip service" to XP . For that reason alone - you'd be better with Vista or Win 7 , in my opinion . You probably know that upgrading the opsys might go smoothly , and might also be a nightmare .

Joco1114 - thanks for the clarifications . Your English quite OK by me .

Save the file into a reg file, for example 'daum.reg', or click with right button on the link and choose "save file as..." or similar. After downloading try do double click in Explorer [File manager]. Or if you give me az email address, I will send it to you.

I checked, everything is correct. Check these:
- my browser cant download a reg file, it downloads "daum.txt". You have to rename it to daum.reg. Be careful, in Explorer you have to turn off "hide known file types extensions". Better use Total Commander or File Manager or a real file manager.
- First line of the file is: "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" and the last line is: "UserIDList"=""
- try to run regedit (Start Menu, Run, Regedit) and in Regedit use "File/Import" function.

You have to make it. I attached a zip file here.
