Splash PRO EX has stopped working

Installed the Lite version on my laptop and loved it until I tried to play a WMV file. When I do I get "Splash PRO EX has stopped working" message and it won't start. Seems to play other file types (MP4, AVI) great. Installed PRO EX trial and get the same message.

Computer is a Gateway M-1625
AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60, 2.0 GHz
2.0 GB Ram
32 Bit, Visa Home Premium
Video is onboard ATI Radeon X1270. Checked and I have the latest driver installed. Running at 1280 x 800, 32bit.

Anyone have any ideas of what to try?

Does it happen for all following scenarios?:
- open file with drag&drop on Splash window
- open video file with double click (file type associated with Splash)
- open file ith "Open file" button

Have you tried without Hardware acceleration?

It should not be connected with HW acceleration.
Probably some mess with codes in system.
