Action Problem

Hey I'm having a problem with my Action Recorder that I bought. Whenever I try to record using Active Desktop Region it shows it as a red outline like its recording. But when I check the recorded videos and try to watch the one I just recorded it opens and has nothing but the Action logo for one second and shows nothing more. And if I record using Games and Applications or Active Screen they both work perfectly fine. Any suggestion on how to fix this? Also I have windows 7 if that helps.
