Youtube: Unsupported file format?

Fri Jun 13, 2014 3:51 pm

Hi guys,

I recorded a video with Action! and youtube tells me that the file format is not supported. I am using the AVI format and do not record a separate audio track for the microfone.
I can also watch the video on my pc using windows media player.

Any ideas why youtube does not like the video? I wanted to use Action! so that I do not have to render the videos separatly.

AVI is encoded by FICV. It's Mirillis' own codec. If u want to upload straight to Youtube without editing, u have to use Intel Quick Sync/AMD APP.

Which is the best quality? Youtube seems to lower the video quality quite badly no matter what i do.

If u're looking to leave editing out, ur best bet is to use the following settings:

Format: Intel Quick Sync / AMD APP
Size: Original
Recording FPS: 30 or 60, i recommend 30 since Youtube only supports up to 30 FPS
Quality: High
MP4 bitrate: 100%

Why? Simple. Youtube use VFR, its make your video more fluid then 30fps set in Action.
