Didn't record active window

I did a couple of sessions on recording a game. I did this yesterday and had no issues creating the video. Today all three of them recorded my audio and mouse movement but just recorded the desktop and not the actual game. I'm not sure why this is but it sucks losing 1.5 hours of recording. I tried different settings avi, mp4, etc to no avail. Docs are hard to find, any thoughts?
