Action! crashes my game as soon as it starts

Action! version: 4.44.0
Freshly reinstalled.

Been using this wonderful application for about 3 months. Has worked perfect until a couple of weeks ago. Makes great recordings and very happy with it. The game that I am recording is: Vintage Story. Have specifically been recording this game from the beginning. I have the game started and when I start Action! it is now immediately causing my game to crash.

Drivers are up do date.
Tested for viruses and any other kind of malware. None detected after a 4 hour scan completed. Many drives including an 8TB external. All drives scanned.

The game has been recently updated but have been playing and recording the new version without issues. It is an OpenGL game.

My PC pretty much idles while I play and record. About 8% GPU and about 5% CPU. Less than 1/4 of RAM being used. Graphics has 12 GB VRAM and it is not very much used either.

Any ideas? I love this app and need it to work. I am a content creator so this is important to me. Thanks in advance for any and all help offered.

I have 4.44.1 and makes Oblivion Remastered (Game Pass PC) crash the same way...

I feel you—Action! is a fantastic tool for content creators, and it’s a bummer when it suddenly stops cooperating.

Even if nothing obvious changed on your end, OpenGL games can be pretty sensitive to updates or capture hooks. You might want to try disabling other overlays or switching the capture mode in Action! just to see if it makes a difference. Also worth checking the exact Windows version you’re on, since recent updates have caused odd issues for some people. Hopefully it’s something small and you get it working again soon.

I ran into something very similar with Action! recently, especially after one of the updates. In my case, it turned out to be a conflict with the rendering mode.
