I really hope we can get an update on the new version of Splash Player soon.
It has been a long time since the current version has worked well with modern large-screen TVs, and I’m concerned that many users may have already moved to alternative media players because of the lack of updates.
A new release with support for newer formats, especially HEVC playback, would make a huge difference and bring Splash Player back up to date with current hardware and video standards.
I also think introducing a paid version could be a good approach. A reasonable pricing model could provide a source of income to support ongoing development, updates, and new features.
Hopefully, there will be some news from the development team soon.
