Sorry, back to 1.1.
Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration?

I use this MKV for testing:
"Home 2009 Blu-ray 1080p AVC DTS-HD 5.1.mkv"
It's a 21GB monster with very high average bitrate (16-20 Mbps). With Splash 1.1 I didnt get any sound, but the picture was perfect with Picture2 (Motion2 = max).
With Splash 1.2 I get the sound but (as I wrote before) the movie went to slideshow. I thought the program needs time to caching. Waited for minutes, but the experiences are the same. Green flashings, audio and video unsynchronized, and nice slideshow. Splash using my 2 CPU cores above 80%.

P.S.: I've tried to play a tiny 3GB Full HD movie with low bitrate. (Ice Age 1) Same experiences. :|

Of course, other programs with GPU acceleration can play smoothly both video.

I'm expereincing DTS HD lossless cutting out over SPDIF still as with 1.1. I thought that I read that this was an issues that will be adressed. All that I have to do is switch the audio source to the 2nd track which is DTS (not DTS HD lossless) and it's fine. not really a big deal I guess but it would be nice to not have to switch the sound to the second audio track for each MKV movies that I saved with HD lossless.

I'm also expereincing the choppyness in picture with motion2 enabled, no matter the setting. But if i turn it off the 1080p MKV play fine.

I also noticed very minute micro-stutter a few times during MKV playback. but it;s still Way better than all of the other progams that I tried...

with this version I got two new issues:
- playback on extended desktop with gpu enabled is not smooth anymore (looks a bit like 15fps)
- playback with gpu disabled looks like 2-3 fps

system is xp sp3
card is agp 2600hd pro

didn't change anything since ver. 1.1 (which worked)

Yep, same here. The only way I could play my MKVs without stuttering was by disabling Motion2 (Detail and Light boost are on and don't seem to interfere with the stutter). But I really enjoyed the Motion2 effect. It's a shame that it seems to be broken in this new version.
