Thanks for the updates mirillis team :D

Aside from the 5.1 issue [on-board decoding], where the audio is converted to mono for some reason; Motion2 need a little color tweak. When Motion2 is enabled, the color becomes slightly shifted towards to green. It's not a a major issues, but on the calibrated display, one can sport the error quite easily.

Worst update for Splash PRO

Tue Sep 14, 2010 1:49 am

Worst SplashPRO update ever.

The most annoying and useful "innovation" is place of the close window button in fullscreen. Stupid idea.
A lot of lags in HD mkv movies when just playing, don't have idea why but SplashPRO 1.1 plays fine these files.
Very buggy SmartSeek feature with lags (worked fine in v.1.1.0)
Subtitles for inscriptions in the movies or foreign languages never shows (all other players displays them when needed)

Only one thing is corrected - some of my HD MKV's with AC3 played without sound and some of them didn't play at all (video/audio)

And for all versions:
1. No audio track descriptions - just Audio 1, Audio 2... But all my mkv's has it.
2. Same as p.1 but for subtitles.
3. When opening next file automatically it should show a note for 2-3 secs with filename like GOMPlayer.
4. Option to set window size to the size of the movie when opening.

@Marsianin: maybe you dont remember the very first versions of Media Player Classic. (named Guliverkli project). It was an unstable, lightweight clone of Windows Media Player with little possibilities. And what now? MPC-HC is one of the best media player ever. I think we have to give enough time to development, to "run out".

You're right that the new update is not so lucky. If you read the other forum topics, we wrote the problems: smooth MKV playing, subtitles, no audio issues, etc. Please help to bring the other problems to light, I hope Mirillis will hear our opinions and they will solve all problem.

BTW: you have nice configuration, I started being envious! :)

PS: sorry about my poor english, I have "internet-english" knowledge only.

Hm, did anyone try to use splash on a HTCP which runs at 24hz?

If i switch the graphid card of my HTPC (Nvidia ION) to 24hz, the video is stuttering in Splash. Switch i back to 60hz, everything is fine. Did anyone of you notice that as well? Just to be sure if it is a Splash or driver problem.

So, what i would wish for the next update:

1 IF the above mentioned behaviour is a Splash problem, a fix for it :D

2 If playing a video file (e.g. MKV) and a subtitle track (normally forced subtitles for scenes spoken in foreign language, etc) has the "standard flag", Splash should recognize this like other players and turn this subtitle automatically on.

3 Option to start playback from the beginning in Fullscreen-mode

Would appreciate your comments, Users and Mirillis as well! ;)

Dziękuję!!

Sorry for that but I very disappointed with this update.

Yeah? On my 55" TV with MediaPC attached I have to target to this button to close SplashPRO from fullscreen instead of just moving mouse to the right upper corner. Yeah I have universal remote (Nevo S70) but mouse is more comfortable for me.
And there is NO REASON to change X-button behavior. More that 10 years in GUI OS'es (Windows, MacOS, Linux...) these buttons never even tried to change their place.

MPC is a dead thing. Can't understand these old fashioned people who use this ugly old-school player and it's nothing without codecs! SplashPRO is another thing and I like it. Best player ever before 1.2.x update. I'm with PC's for more than 15 years and I like progress...

Hope you will fix all these new bugs ASAP. Thank you for the great product.

What? MPC-HC doesn't need any external codecs. And what matters most to me is how smooth the playback is and of course the quality of video playback.

So far Splash does all these best. I consider changing back to MPC-HC when it does these even better.

I agree with you about the X-button.
