Please try disabling PGS support and please keep us informed if it helps or not.
To disable PGS please open Splash config file (usually: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Mirillis\config2.ini) and add a line "PGS=0" at the very bottom. Then test movies without enabling subtitles.
I have tried "PGS=0" version, but I think it is worst then before. What is PGS means?
PGS means Presentation Graphic Stream, ie. bluray subtitles.
Disabling PGS should not make video playback worse.

"PGS=0"
GPU enable .
SD content : everything perfect except ATI DXVA problem with SD
HD content : subtitle still flash .
and with this file :
Video
Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : High@L5.0
Format settings, ReFrames : 16 frames
freeze few second after seek and right at chapter jump ( ordered chapter )
Splash Pro with GPU disable and version 1.1.0 doesn't have those problems .

Damn. Version 1.2.2 changes nothing:
1. Still has problems with seeking and lags in MKV h264 playback
2. More problems than ever with AVI playback, pixelates (v.1.2.2)

Thank you for uploading 1.1.0. That version really works fine (except some MKVs and audios)
Ghost wrote:Could you describe more detailed about lags in MKV? Does it repeat with Motion2 only, or with h/w acceleration enabled and disabled? Does problem repeat on all displays or only when using second display? The thing that may affect mkv playback is PGS support. Please try opening Splash config file (usually: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Mirillis\config2.ini) and add a line "PGS=0" at the very bottom. Then test mkv movies without enabling subtitles.
Ok, I will try... I did not have any of these issues in 1.1.0:
When playing MKV (720p/1080p, h264) sometimes picture freezes for 3-5 secs but audio plays normal then video skips all these frames to sync with audio and then continues to play. This never happens in other players (GOM, WMP with K-Lite Codecs) nor in SplashPRO 1.1.0

Using seek freezes SplashPRO for up to 10 secs very often.

Here is my config:

Code: Select all

[Splash]
PlaylistPos=0,1478,287,1889,844
UseGPU=1
VideoQuality=1
DeiQuality=0
AlwaysOnTop=0
CheckForUpdates=0
ShowGpuInfo=0
LoopPlayback=0
DisplayFormat=0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0,0
AudioLevel=65535
AudioOutputMode=0
AutoHideMenu=1
ForceVideoOverlay=0
AutoOpenNextFile=1
SeekInterval=10000
SubtitleFontId=1
AutoOpenSubtitles=0
LastDir=E:\Movies
WindowPos=260,119,1565,984
PlaybackOptionsPos=0,121,225
LangID=1033
RF0=E:\Movies\Ace Ventura 2 [1h33m, 1995, 720p, 2.40x1].mkv
AudioOutputModePro=0
CurrentPlaylist=default.pls
CurrentPreset=default.pre
SmartSeek=1
UseApm=0
MinApmBrightness=100
CaptureIdx=0
UseMotion2=1
Motion2Value=1
UseDetailBoost=0
DetailBoostValue=1
UseLightBoost=0
LightBoostValue=1
DemoMode=0
BrightnessLevel=0
ContrastLevel=0
SaturationLevel=0
UseAudioBoost=0
AudioBoostValue=0
Now added PGS=0 at the bottom. Will try.

Version 1.2.2 has AVI playback issues:

1. Pixelating - so picture looks like when you have bad satellite signal.
2. Closing SplashPRO never stops playing movie and it actually doesn't close and I can hear sound from the movie in the background. Needs to be killed from task manager

yea i would have to agree trash the 1.2 updated and revert back to 1.1 and start again instead of wasting time trying to fix 1.2.

only issue with 1.1 was the compressed audio thats it.
