Action! Crashing Minecraft and other problems

Thu Sep 13, 2012 3:49 pm

Hi everyone this is my first forum post ever yay! :D

First off i want to say that I really love the Action! recorder it has a very nice interface and has very good quality. Now to start off with the problems.

First Problem: So when I run Minecraft and I select the games and applications recording. After about two minutes of recording Minecraft crashes. I do know about using the select area mode so I just use that but I wanted to just bring a bit of attention to it.

Next problem: I try and record this game called soldner: secret wars but Action! wont detect it and there is no way to run the game in windowed mode. So Im not sure what to do about that one.

Last problem: I am trying to use pinnacle studio to edit my video but pinnacle wont detect the raw video from Action!but I want the high quality from the raw video and not trying to export it and reduce the quality.

My stupidity problem :? : Ive read multiple times that there is a way in Action! to upload straight to youtube and facebook but I dont see any option to do that even after exporting

Thanks again everyone for your help!!

1. In some cases Action! is not working properly with java. We still didn't find the cause of this problem because we couldn't reproduce this issue in our labs. You can try with fullscreen windowed mode and Active region desktop recording function.

2. Check if this game is running in DX9 or higher. Action! does not support games below DX9.

3. I m not sure about the pinnacle studio, I will check it, but Action! is working fine with following video editing softwares:
- Adobe After Effects
- Adobe Premiere Pro
- Camtasia Studio
- Cyberlink Power Director
- MAGIX Video Pro
- Sony Vegas PRO
- VirtualDub
- Windows Live Movie Maker

4. Right-click on your video. Select Export then from the scrolling menu choose YouTube or YouTube HD (at the bottom of scrolling menu). Then click blue button with white arrow. Fill out the fields and click Start.

Thank you for the super quick reply! In your opinion what should I use video editor wise? I know i would like something that supports PiP. Also for the exporting to youtube I still cannot find a place that says to export it there.

so I go to the file and then I right click and hit export.

But once I go to the export window I see nothing at all that relates to youtube.

Once again Im sorry for my lack of knowing what I am doing but again thank you for replying!

Also one other question.

I tried out the new feature of recording microphone to a separate track but when I finished I went to preview the movie I recorded and it had only the game audio (which I expected) but where does the mic track save to? because I went into the videos folder where it saves the raw video and I found the video I recorded. I opened it up and it had my microphone and my game sound but it also had my fps counter in the video which i had disabled. So my question is do I have to export the movie to get the fps counter to go away and where is the separate microphone track located. I prefer to edit my movies straight from the raw footage just to get the highest quality possible. Thanks again for all your help! :D :D :D :D
