Re: Splash PRO 1.3.0 & 1.3.2

I have a problem with thelatest version 1.3.2. I'm using the Intel HD video card integrated in Core i5 and when VIdeo overlay is disabled all the movies I play have a huge lag. When enabling video overlay everything is okay but every time I run Splash Pro it changes my theme to WIndows 7 Basic.
I installed the old version and without video overlay I can play every movie without problems.

crl2007 - This is still the best player in regards to picture quality........and, at least the Mirillis team are working steadily on improvements (of which I appreciate). These updates are for free, other than the download usage (13mb hardly worth mentioning).

N.B - Sharing your licence might render it invalid as it breaks the usage rules, risky move! Just a thought!

I'm not selling it and I'm not sharing it. I just give it away. Picture quality is 0 when motion2 and picture2 stutter with various movie files. I can't move the subtitles, I have to watch 2:35:1 movies with subtitles above the black bars, taking 1/4 of the image. And many more.

Some bugs:

1. "Ctrl-O" opens the "file open" dialog where you can select which files should be played, but only "LeftCtrl-O" works. When pressing "RightCtrl-O" it just opens the playback options (shortcut "O").

2. When running the player in full screen with mouse cursor hidden, pressing "LeftCtrl-O" will open the "file open" dialog, but the mouse cursor will stay hidden all the time. You can click on items in the dialog, but you have no idea where you are clicking since you don't see the mouse cursor. If you show the cursor by moving the mouse before you open the dialog it will work fine.

3. Some Divx/Xvid files still will not play. They freeze the player for about 30s and then a dialog pops up telling me they can't be played. I understand that this is a problem with the external decoders installed on my system, but how far is the solution to this problem? Other media players using the same external decoders do play these files correctly.

In full screen play I cant:
* close with Alt+F4 (not all the time, but most of the time)
* play another video file (I use 2 screens: play video file on the 1st and working in 2nd. I start playing with a file manager, but until I play file in full screen, the new video file cannot start.)

Splash is very interesting but like many others have said I need theese simple features:

1. Confuguration for startup in fullscreen

2. subtitle configuration: color, size, position, border width

3. resume for all files or the last 50 played

4. codes in subtitle: <i></i>, <color></color> etc

Thanks.

Yeah, they have a great engine to upscale a video [it means this is a great team with lots of knowledge] but they dont care about details.

Hello, i am running Splash Pro 1.3.2.

Some glitches:
1) the audio boost, sometimes causes serious audio distortion in cases of AAC stereo audio (6 channel downmix). FFdshow shows no problem at all, so it's decoding issue.
2) when loading greek subs from srt file, the encoding is wrong (the characters are "alien language"), if system language is not greek.

And one feature request:

Get rid of the lower control bar in windowed mode. I often switch between film and browser and the lower bar is occupying a good portion of what could be the film, which instead has to be shown on smaller window. Or make the bar transparent like in WMP12. Or... in the worst case, make a thinner bar.

Other than that, it's awesome player.

crl2007 - after looking at your posts I decided to check out BSplayer - interesting one .
However after that , I hads all sorts of problems with Splash . I suspect that they somehow clash with eachother - happens sometimes .
I rectified this by
1. Uninstalling BSplayer , with all it's downloaded Codecs .
2. Uninstalling Splash Pro ( and Lite , if you have it ) .
3. Reboot
4. Reinstalling Splash Pro only ( not BSplayer ) .
I suggest you try it - as crazy as it sounds , this may well solve your problems .

A question on Splash ( 1.3.2 ) .
Sometimes when playing a video , it displays the GPU symbol below , and sometimes not .
Why is that ?
