Editing Action! recorded video in Sony Vegas HD Platinum 10

Tue Mar 05, 2013 4:32 pm

Hi. I think your product records video great and much better than FRAPS.

I'm using it to record gameplay video in Planetside 2.

The problem I'm having is editing the Action! video in Sony Vegas HD Platinum 10. When I play the video in Sony Vegas to see what parts to edit, the video playback is VERY choppy and makes it difficult to precisely edit scenes.

However, the final edited rendered video produced by Sony Vegas plays normal.

I this choppy video playback problem with FRAPS videos in Sony Vegas, only with Action!

Any suggestions? Thank you.

Maybe your bitrate is too high so Sony Vegas is not able to playback it properly. Have you tried exporting the file to see if the stutters occurs? The preview is not a really good thing to compare for a final effect.

The problem turned out to be in Sony Vegas.

I right clicked the preview window, which then brought up a menu.

Then I unchecked the "Adjust Size and Quality for Optimal Playback" option.

That solved everything.

Now, when do you think Action! will have a pre-record buffer functionality like FRAPS and Playclaw? Thanks.

We were testing this buffering feature but we weren't happy about the results. Currently we are looking for a better way.
