Webcam problem!

Not matter what I change whenever I place my recording into Sony Vegas, the webcam doesn't show.. Used 3 different webcams and they're all different makes.. It shows on the Action menu though.. so surely it should record it? but nope.. All there ever is on this software is problem after problem!
