Is it possible to record MSI Afterburner's VGA information?

Wed Oct 16, 2013 8:11 pm

Hello, I'm trying to record Mafia II, and I want to include in this recording, informations about the VGA (temperature, frames per second, memory) using MSI Afterburner. But when I finish the recording I don't see any of this information on the video...

This is what I'm trying to include on the video:

I haven't tried with other games yet, but am I doing something wrong or isn't possible to record from MSI Afterburner?

Thank you so much.

I am not an expert ether but with older versions of action I was use to able to record with gameplay steam notifications etc. but now with newer version of action that isn't possible now, for me that ain't a big deal but maybe the reason why you can't record those information's related to same issue. BTW this is just a shot in dark maybe I am wrong.

Afterburner will just overlay what you see on screen on top of the game, just like the FPS counter in Action. So when Action is recording it doesn't 'see' the information on screen unless you deselect 'Do not record HUD in games and applications' under the Settings, HUD Settings tab.

So no, I don't think you will be able to record Afterburner's GPU overlay. Unless you have a MSI graphics card, in which case you can just use Predator to record your game play.

Sorry for the late reply.

So, I understood that, but like you said, Action! can not recognize Afterburner's overlay and this behavior should happen with all the other games, right? No, because I actually can record that overlay in games like Trine 2, DiRT 2, Max Payne 3 etc.. Here is a footage from Trine 2:

Why does it only work with particular games? :|

It may be a useless feature, but for me it's important to record that information, since I'm trying to make a channel on Youtube about gaming performance on HD 7970. So for me it would be nice.

Again, I'm sorry for my english in case you don't understand what I mean to say. Thank you!
