Wolfenstein: New Order and no HUD

Wed May 21, 2014 11:13 am

Hi,

Great software. I'm playing Wolfenstein: The New Order via STEAM. Functionality seems to be fine, but I can't get the Action! HUD to display properly on the screen while in-game.

All I get is a black or white rectangle where the display should be. This is persistent throughout all events in the game. I checked my settings and they're all fine. The display works in the other game I'm playing at the moment, although that's not on STEAM.

I have an Alienware Aurora R4, Intel i7 3930k processor at 3.20 GHz, nVidia GeForce GTX 690 (SLI). Plenty of RAM and Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.

I tested the software by making a capture, and that worked without problem; it's just the absent HUD that bothers me.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Sasha.

Have you tried disabling Steam overlay and see if the issue still occurs?

Hi,

Just disabled overlay on STEAM but the blank HUD placeholder persists.

I've retained the default settings on the game, so everything is just as I installed it via STEAM.

The Game keybindings are ok, they don't use Function keys in general, so I'm not miss-keying anything. I've also just re-checked the Action! settings, just to be sure. Nothing there either.

Scratching-head time.

Thanks for any further suggestions you can make..

Sasha.

The same in here - HUD displayed as square with black/white/pink colors. GameOverlayUI.exe exluded.

Hi Horzy, just to clarify; do you get this effect playing Wolfenstein: The New Order, or some other game?

Thanks,
Sasha.

Yeah, new Wolfenstein. It has something to do with the game. I tried to change GPU drivers, settings, play in non-full screen modes. Always the same problem.

@Mirillis Team. Can we have some support in here. Nobody from your side answered this topic in 5 days. Personally I know another person which has the same problem so this is not individual thing. It is annoying as hell when you don't know whether you are recording or not.

I too have this problem, I can record the game play BUT it is choppy and slow.

My pc is custom, AMD FX-8320 Stock, MSI R7970 Lightnting, Windows 8.1, 8G ram.

Disabled steam overlay also, BF4, Watchdogs all record fine, i've gone from AMP APP to AVI and still no different, using Catalyst 14.4 as 13.12 won't let wolf start.

Hi Andycartz,
Sorry to hear you have the same problem. The Support Team has been in touch with me. After I gave them a fuller explanation of just what I am seeing on-screen, they 'went away' and tried to reproduce the situation in their Lab. I presume they ran the game on one of their own rigs :) I've heard nothing back yet, but it's a bit too soon to expect a result, I guess. Maybe they're just enjoying the game..

I'm sure we'll get a fix as soon as they're able, since it's not in their interests for us to have a disappointing experience with the software!

Sasha.
