Very easy. Look:
- Download Virtualdub here: Latest Virtualdub
- Extract in any folder.
- Run it and load your AVI file.
- Click in Audio tab and select Full Processing mode
- Click in file and save WAV
- Load this file in Vegas
- Enjoy
