Trouble with hotkeys

Thu Aug 07, 2014 6:47 am

I am having an problem using hotkeys that only recently started. While I can set and change the hotkeys from their default keys, I cannot actually use them. This has kept me from using the mode to record games and applications, but I can still click on the record button when in "active screen" mode. I can then open or tab to whatever other program I want to record and everything works perfectly fine, besides the hotkeys of course.

I have noticed that the check boxes next to the hot keys are unchecked, and I can't click on them to re-check them. The only real fix I have tried so far is uninstalling the program, running CCleaner's Registry Cleaner, and then reinstalling the program. All my changes to the hotkeys still existed when I reinstalled, the checkboxes are still unchecked, and no combination of hotkey setups has changed my ability to check them.

I am currently running a trial version and really liked the program up to this point, but I am a bit apprehensive about buying a full license until I can get this issue resolved.

1. search for "regedit" in run
2. navigate in registry to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Mirillis\Action
3. delete the Mirillis folder

Only moments ago I was able to solve the problem myself! :D

At the suggestion of a friend, I went into the registry editor myself and checked if Action! had been removed or not. It wasn't, and running CCleaner, Advast!, Malware Bytes, and a few other Registry Cleaners (for curositiy's sake) did not remove it. I manually deleted the registry, re-installed Action!, and everything works perfect again.

I'm not sure what caused the issue in the first place though :|
