AMD Recording DX9 & OpenGL

Thu Sep 25, 2014 11:41 am

Hello Users and Mirillis Team
Im very happy to gotten this software really long ago and i seen the software improve overtime in a good direction in many ways but there is one huge issue that has to be solved soon and it's taken over one year and not solved yet because maybe lack of bad reports on this issue even tho i personaly have reported this before at various of places i figure i try here aswell.

The Problem?
The problem i have with Action that i actually think most AMD users have and maybe a few don't know is an issue is that when you are goin to record a game that uses DX9 or OpenGL there is Huge Issues with the games.
The games instant starts to run really really sluggish the moment you hit record. It feels like you are running the games at 15fps with stuttering.
Tried this with various games overtime and yesterday i thought i try Divinity Original Sin which is a great game by the way.
The game run so bad it's not playable when you record.
This affects most DX9 Games i tried and i know that Mirillis replied about they changing how the new software will hook and maybe that solves it i really hope so.

What i tried
Obvious thing was for me long ago to go back to AMD 13.1 WHQL because i knew that this problem existed with DXTORY aswell and Bandicam with drivers above 13.1 WHQL. So 13.1 WHQL smooth as butter with all the three softwares tho 13.1 is a very buggy driver with graphical glitches which i really dont want to have when playing games or recording which is not an option to go back over 1 year in drivers.
DXTORY & Mirillis got this issue on drivers above 13.1 Still.
Bandicam solved this issue and that means there is an big issue and that it's possible to solve after AMD most likely changed something with their drivers and i really wish that Mirillis Could do the same soon.
Multiple Reinstalls of Windows. Almost every single driver 13.1 WHQL to current max 14.7 RC3
MP4 & AVI same results same bad stuff.

Active Screen
Yes active screen recording works without a problem when it records aero on win 8,8.1 it's smooth as butter.
Game recorder hooking to DX9 and OpenGL is the problem here.

Hardware
i7 920 3.8ghz
AMD 7950DC2T v2 925MHZ
ASUS p6t deluxe v2
Samsung 830 SSD 128GB for Windows 8
WD Black 1TB 7200RPM for Recording
WD Black 1TB 7200RPM for Storage
4TB Red Storage Drive

Hard to believe it's hardware related to my stuff since Bandicam works perfect and action + dxtory used to work perfect aswell. But the thing is most likely related to AMD Drivers Combined with not changed Software in Action to adapt to the new changes made by AMD.

Want to know more information feel free to ask since i want this solved for me, for you for the creators behind mirillis to have the best Recording Software on the Market

Thanks for reading and i hope we can fix this for the future
Best Regards
