Is it possible to make Action! only record game audio?

Sat Sep 27, 2014 10:04 am

Hi,

Is it possible to make Action! only record game audio?
I play games a lot, but at the same time I'm listening to quite a lot of music, or the audio from different videos.
I want to record some gameplay, but when I record, I need to switch off any music or other audio-related services so that all that is recorded is the audio from the game. I don't want to have to only listen to the game audio whenever I record because I want to continuously record every match, but I want to simultaneously listen to music but not have that recorded.

Is there an option/a way to set Action! to only record the audio from a certain program?

Regards,
Jared.

Unfortunately no. Almost all sounds that comes from third party applications comes through your sound card and are picked up as system sounds.

There isn't a ways to select certain programs, but you can tell it to only record a certain Audio device.
If you have 2 sound cards (on board + USB headset for example) you can set up your audio in such a way that your games play their audio on one device and the music on the other and then you can tell Action to only record the device that game audio is using.
