It would be hard to list all the webcams that are supported. It's almost impossible since there is plenty of them at the market.

I'm sure its not to hard to name 3 so I can buy a new one.

I can confirm that Microsoft's Lifecam HD-3000, Logitech's
c270 & Microsoft's Lifecam Studio, Are not compilable with
Action! & Windows 8.1 64bit, These are the 3 webcams I
have purchased in the last 3 weeks and none of them work.

Could you please advise me which Webcam I should purchase.

Cheers...

That is NOT true. I have all three webcams and no problem with Action on Win 8.1 64bit. My 10 year old Labtech webcam and my SJCAM, it's an Actioncam like gopro, are working too. There must be something wrong with your system or drivers.

Hi oTe,

The 3 Cams I have tested all worked with Windows 8 Camera App (Metro UI)
And "only" the Microsoft HD-3000 Worked with Skype.

None of them work with 3rd party Webcam Software that I have tested.
I not going to count Skype as 3rd party because it published/owned by
Microsoft.

So I'm not understanding why your Windows 8.1 64bit setup seems to have
no problems...

I do know my way around Windows OS & Drivers... I have owned Computers
for over 25 Years... But I'm pretty much stuck here.

Cheers....

The Windows 8 driver for the Logitech lifecam Studio are not working with win 8.1.

You have to install the windows 7 driver on win 8.1 it's the only solution to get the MS Lifecam Studio to work with skype.

Yep, Did all that before my Original post with all 3 Cams including Compatibility Mode(s) Stiil no joy.
I'm not interested if a Cam works with Skype or not, Only Action! that I have paid for.

I have now sent all 3 Webcams back & have been refunded.

After doing a little more research It seems that Windows 8.1 has no 100% certified Webcam.
I'm dammed if I'm to downgrade to Windows 7/8, I have to many professional Audio & Video
programs installed & not to mention 2TB's of Games!!!

I am in the middle of researching the "HP HD 4310 Webcam" as I type...

Any further help would be most welcome.

Thanks...
