Issues with Screen Capture Quality in Action!

Fri Feb 28, 2025 1:23 am

I hope you're doing well. I’ve been using Mirillis Action! for recording gameplay, but I’m experiencing some issues with the video quality. Here are my system specifications:

CPU Model: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
RAM: 16GB
Windows Version: Windows 10 Home (64-bit, version 21H1)
I’ve configured the settings for high-quality recording, but the final video files often look pixelated, especially during fast-paced scenes. I've tried adjusting the bitrate settings and resolution, but I'm still not satisfied with the output quality.

Has anyone else faced this issue? What settings do you recommend for achieving the best recording quality? Any tips or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!

Hopefully anyone will respond to this thread because I've been having the same problem since I've been using Mirillis.

I have a 3060Ti I been using screen recording for a year now to record games without an issue.

I think the problem is High Settings (which forces a limit on bit rate) and I think its really low. Try manually setting bit rate which will override the Video Quality. For example I have set 60mbps for 4K recordings and everything just works. Hope this helps.

Have you tried running a test recording with OBS Studio using NVENC and similar settings. If OBS gives better results, the issue may be specific to Action!’s encoder settings or how it handles fast motion.

Set this to 100% (Original). Your RTX 3060 can handle recording at your monitor's native resolution without a problem, which is ideal for quality.
